Presented by Hess and produced by the USTA, Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day benefits the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network. The NJTL was established by Arthur Ashe, Charlie Pasarell and Sheridan Snyder in 1969 with the mission of developing the character of young people through tennis and education. Since then, the NJTL network has grown to include over 550 chapters which serve over 220,000 youth annually. NJTL chapters, which vary in size and scope, can be found in 46 of the top 50 U.S. markets, making NJTL one of the USTA’s largest community-based initiatives. NJTL chapters are supported by the USTA through grants, awards and various learning opportunities. NJTL participants have the opportunity to take part in a number of core programs, including the Tennis and Leadership Camp, the Arthur Ashe Essay and Art Contest, Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, Regional Rallies, a scholarship to the annual USTA Community Tennis Development Workshop and low-cost insurance.

According to KGMB9 Will’s wife is tired of seeing him appear nude in his films, according to him (jokingly) it’s all due to public demand:

“She’s very much over it. ‘You’re doing the underpants thing again?’” Ferrell jokes: “The only reason that I keep getting naked is that people keep demanding it.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Comedy Central has already ordered 10 episodes of the sitcom that Will is producing with Adam McKay and Chris Henchy. The sitcom, about a computer IT specialist, is set to star John Heder:

Comedy Central has ordered 10 episodes of a show starring Napoleon Dynamite’s Jon Heder and written and produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Henchy. The untitled sitcom stars Heder as an unemployed computer IT specialist who leaves the big city and returns to his small hometown, where he moves back in with his parents and younger brother. “We’ve always been fans of Jon’s,” McKay said in a press release. Heder costarred with Ferrell in 2007’s big-screen Blades of Glory. “This deal gives us a chance to take some big creative swings without the risk of testing and focus grouping the show to death.” The series will debut in 2010.

The comedian nurtures a love for the game in general, and the Blues in particular…

Will Farrell’s love for Chelsea has been apparent since he started appearing on The Daily Show on American television sporting one of the Blues’ replica shirts, and the actor was on hand at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, on Tuesday night to act as ‘captain’ for the side ahead of the friendly win over Inter.

Ferrell was sporting the shirt he wears on The Daily Show, and revealed that his love for the west Londoners runs deep.

“This is the same one as The Daily Show, it’s vintage now but I have a new one already,” he told the club’s official website.

“Chelsea have just reached out to me a couple of times and, I can’t say that I only follow Chelsea, I try to keep an eye on all the teams in the Premiership and I love soccer in general.

“I’m a big sports fan as a whole, and was a sports journalist, a very, very good sports journalist.”

The 42-year-old star of Anchorman and Step Brothers also revealed that his favourite player is the club’s talismanic England international midfielder Frank Lampard.

“I love Frank Lampard, he’s one of the toughest guys of all time,” he enthused.

“I went to a match against Barcelona two or three years ago and the atmosphere was just fantastic, there is nothing like that here, so it was really fun to watch.”
